Chevy describes the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427  as "the fastest and most capable convertible in Corvette's history." The 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 is powered by a 505-horsepower 7.0-liter LS7 V8 from the Corvette Z06. Earlier this week chevy showed you the recently-unveiled 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427. The Chevrolet didn't just bring the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 to display, though, and announced that it would be auctioning the very first production example for charity. The 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 car sold at auction has a Vehicle Identification Number ending in 001. The sale was a joint effort between Chevrolet and Hendrick Motorsports, including team owner Rick Hendrick and four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Jeff Gordon, to raise money for AARP's Drive to End Hunger food relief program. There was plenty of excitement as the Corvette was brought up on the auction block, and bidding quickly skyrocketed past the six-figure mark.
